Outcome: The workshop organised to solicit feedback on key gaps identified in the existing regulations, their mitigation measures, proposed business models and the major amendments in the upcoming comprehensive metering regulation had participation from representatives of International Financial Institutions (IFIs), State regulators and Distribution Companies (DISCOMs). The event was graced by the chief guest, Shri. Gopal Krishan Gupta, Joint Secretary, MNRE and other dignitaries, Dr S. K. Chatterjee, Joint Chief, Regulatory affairs, Central Electricity Regulatory Commission and Mani Khurana, Senior Economist, World Bank.Shri Gopal Krishan Gupta shared his opinion on limited proliferation in the GRPV segment in India and the five fronts required to address that, such as, encouraging DISCOM participation, linking the program with other support schemes like KUSUM, consumer-friendly, web-based application system, debt financing and awareness campaigns.
